CNN labels Laylizzy as influential and a fast rising artist

Following the successful release of the “Hello” music video which is one of the most talked about music videos in the hip hop scene currently, CNN Africa felt the heat too and took it upon themselves to cover Laylizzy on ‘African Voices’ with an interest to know more about his music career and how he continues to be the nation’s hope for Mozambique.

Having scooped an award for the ‘Best Hip Hop Song’ at the Mozambican Music Awards in 2015, Laylizzy’s music career continues to gradually take a peak, with him growing to become a favourite of many. This was evident when the music video for his second single, “Hello” was officially released under Pan African label, Geobek Records featuring South Africa’s hip hop star, AKA.

As African Voices uncovers some of the continent’s most dazzling trendsetters and change makers, Laylizzy has been recognised by the channel as the most influential and fast rising Mozambican artist who’s pushing the boundaries of hip hop music across the continent, showcasing the modern, contemporary Africa.

The African Voices episode featuring Laylizzy had its initial broadcast on the 07th of October on CNN (DSTV Channel 401).
