phenomenon and award-winning drama series, Game
of Thrones will begin airing this month on DStv.
M-Net Edge, - the home of
HBO in Africa, will take television connoisseurs to the edge of entertainment
by introducing them to the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros with double-bill episodes.
Viewers will be able to watch all the seasons of the
fantastic series and speaking
on the launch of the series, Regional Director, M-Net West Africa, Wangi
Mba-Uzoukwu said; “DStv
Premium subscribers can also set their PVRs or Exploras to record the season
and watch it at their leisure or watch previously
aired episodes on Catch Up,
which will also be available for 48-hours
after broadcast. The series will also be available on the DStv Now app for
viewers to enjoy on-the-go”
Further explaining why the exciting series is coming to Nigeria at this
time, Wangi said; "Game of Thrones is a series that displays nudity, sex,
violence and strong language. We were required to meet specific regulatory and
censorship criteria before introducing it in Nigeria. It is as a result of this
that we have positioned the series to air between 10:00pm to 12 midnight for its
duration. We also strongly encourage parents to activate the parental control feature
on their decoders."
Game
of Thrones is based
on the best-selling
fantasy novel
series by George R. R. Martin, and is set in a grounded fantasy world inhabited by
ambitious men and women of both honor and ill repute. In the Seven Kingdoms of
Westeros, whoever controls the Iron Throne, holds unbelievable power, and
also centres on the rise and fall of several families that covet that power at
all costs.
