411 Ent. Replies MTV's Disclaimer

"We Never Mentioned MTV
As Sponsors Or Supporters"

The organisers of the Lasgidi All-Stars concert have expressed disappointment at an MTVbaseAfrica disclaimer issued via the music channels official twitter handle which was also followed by a recent online report by theNET newspaper refuting Ehiz's involvement as the co-host of the concert.

Responding to the disclaimer, Akpor Donnell Gbemre, Executive Producer of the event, informs that 411 Entertainment had a verbal agreement with Ehiz to co-host the show but the talented VJ pulled-out of the agreement days after an official statement announcing him as a co-anchor for the concert was issued to the press.

"We at 411 Entertainment are highly disappointed at MTVbaseAfrica's tweet on Friday the 21st stating that it is not a sponsor or part of the upcoming Lasgidi All-Star concert 2014 and that it's VJ, Ehiz is not part of the show.

"We were in talks with Ehiz to hire his services as an anchor for the LAS 2014 show. He made it clear to us that he was interested in co-hosting if we make a certain amount available to him. That made us put information out in the media that he will co-anchor the show alongside Shine of Cool FM whom we have already concluded arrangement and payment terms with, until he (Ehiz) later drew our attention some days later about the fact that he won't be able to meet up with his initial promise to co-host the show as a result of an impromptu official assignment that he has to in South Africa on the 4th of December which is on the eve of the concert". He added.

Akpor also noted that 411 Entertainment never mentioned MTVbaseAfrica as a sponsor or supporter of the forthcoming concert in any of the official press statements issued to the media.

"The verbal agreement was reached with Ehiz and not with MTVbaseAfrica. We have proof of correspondence. We would also like to state categorically that at no time did we communicate or mention MTVbaseAfrica as sponsors or supporters of the Lasgidi All-Stars concert to the media.

"We have struggled to build an enduring annual event over the years without the help and support of MTV and I wonder why they are making it seem like we are leveraging on their brand to promote our concert." Akpor said.

Moving forward, the Executive Producer of the concert is confident that the concert will turn out to be a success despite the seeming challenges which has cropped up in recent times.

"Though, we do not rule out sabotage in some quarters, we are doing everything necessary to ensure that we stage a befitting concert and deliver on our promise to continue to celebrate and project music of Nigerian origin."

Meanwhile, the search for a replacement is underway as the organisers now have to scout for a new co-host with notable names being considered as replacement for Ehiz who will not be co-hosting the music concert as earlier informed.

The yearly music concert was rebranded from the Ikeja All-Star Concert to Lasgidi All-Star Concert which has become an annual music All-Star series since it made its debut in 2007.
