"Growing up for me started off very rough. I lost my parents at a very early stage in life and I had to be a little more matured therefore making many decisions on my own. But things began to change when LITTLE SAINTS ORPHANAGE picked me up and helped me redirect my life and that's when everything changed." MYKEY informs.
MYKEY's quest to find expression in the world of arts saw him display his musical skills every time he had the opportunity to perform on stage
"It didn't come as a surprise to most of my close friends when I started being noticed as a musician because they know I have a passion for music.
"I have had the opportunity of performing in campuses and carnivals. I got a lot of motivation from friends and family to take music to the next level. When I started out, music was just a passion but now, it is a profession."
The indegene of Etsako west local government, Edo state who was born on the 10th of October 1987 also talked about the genre of music he delivers and his chances of making a meaningful impact on the music scene.
"I am a very versatile artiste. I am interested in all kinds of music as long as it sounds or feels good to me I'll flesh it up with lyrics and make me a song. I am comfortable with R&B and soul music because it allows me express my vocal dexterity.
"I have recorded about twelve songs but work is still in progress. My latest single titled 'Amen' is getting appreciable airplay. I intend to record more songs and choose the best of them for my fans. However my focus is to always pass an inspiring message to listeners."MYKEY added.
"Just like our finger prints and DNA are different, I believe trying to be like or sound like someone else is absurd. I am me "I am MYKEY". Hence, I intend to stand out by just being myself the best possible way I can."
On the lighter side, MYKEY reveals that while growing up, he had a crush on a very popular Nollywood actress.
"Yeah. I once had a crush on Omotola Jalade Ekeinde. I hope she is reading this (laughs)."
