The South West Mobilisation Committee Chairman of the PDP, Prince Buruj Kashamu on Sunday said that the Party would loose the governorship elections in Ogun if it imposed any candidate on the members.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that controversy had trailed alleged interference by some National Leaders of the party in the just concluded house of assembly primaries and plans to impose a candidate on the members.
Addressing Newsmen in Lagos, Kashamu said that all the aspirants of the party must be given a level playing ground to contest the primaries.
"11 aspirants bought the PDP governorship nomination forms. Those 11 people should be allowed to test their popularity among the members of the party in the state.
"If we are allowed to choose our own candidate we will deliver Ogun for PDP in 2015" he said.
Kashamu urged the National Leadership of the PDP to carry out investigations into the controversy emanating from the House of Assembly primaries held on Nov 29, in the state.
"We will resist any attempt to cancel the result of the primaries which was smooth, free and fair.
"The delegates that voted in the congress were certified by INEC and approved by the National Working Committee of our party he said.
He urged members of the party to ignore speculations that the result of the House of Assembly Primaries had been cancelled.
"The rumor of cancellation is being peddled by those who lost" he said.
He warned that any attempt to change the authentic delegates list for Ogun would result in serious litigations.
