Music Stars Squeal New Year Resolutions

The year 2015 is here and quite a number of people have made their usual New Year resolutions which have become a common declaration especially in times like this. Nigerian music stars are not left out of the frenzy and the question of whether such resolutions will be carried out to the latter is a topic for another day.  AHMED BOULOR writes…

 

D'Prince: "My Resolution Is To Be A Better Person"

The year 2014 seemed somewhat quiet for Mavin signee D'Prince but it ended with relative buzz for the stylish artiste much so as his latest song titled OYO received appreciable rotation on the airwaves.

D'Prince looks forward to an exciting year ahead but first wants to become a better person in the New Year.

"My New Year resolution is to be a better person and to also be a source of inspiration to as many people as possible." He informed in his New Year tweet.

Timaya: "I Want To Help More Upcoming Artistes"

Dancehall exponent Enetimi Odom popularly known in music circles as Timaya is currently basking in the euphoria of the release of his 5th album titled Ephiphany which boasts of chart topping songs such as Sanko and Bow Down.

The Egberi Papa 1 of Bayelsa informs that he looks forward to helping more upcoming artistes on the streets to achieve their dreams of becoming established musicians on the music scene.

"My New Year resolution is to help more up and coming artistes on the streets to achieve their dreams of becoming established artistes on the scene. It is quite tough for most talented artiste to really achieve their dreams of becoming established on the scene. My aim this year is to help as many as possible to achieve that dream".

Tiwa Savage: "Appreciating My Fans More Is Paramount"

Raunchy performer Tiwa Savage set minds wandering and tongues wagging over the release of her video titled ‘Wanted’ last year. The video released whipped up mixed reactions and comments from fans especially top figures in the entertainment industry. The video directed by UK based Mr Moe Musa shows Tiwa twisting and dancing in a seductive way while also touching provocative parts of her body.

Social media was also abuzz last year about speculated rancor between Tiwa and her husband Teebillz but the couple weathered the storm and they are both now expecting their first child.

Tiwa Savage’s New Year resolution is to be close to her fans that have stood by her through thick and thin.

“I promise to keep appreciating you all my fans in the New Year. You have been a major part of my success over the years. I love you all...”

Davido: "I Will Work On Being Closer To My Fans"

HKN Music co-owner, David Adedeji Adeleke who is known in music circles as Davido became an instant hit when his single ‘Dami Duro’ hit the airwaves. Ever since, the silver spoon artiste has continued to churn out hits, after hits.

The success of his debut album O.B.O followed with a deluge of awards and recognition making him one of the most sought after performers on the Nigerian music scene. Davido is currently working on the release of his sophomore album which will drop in 2014.

Davido looks forward to an even more rewarding 2015 much so as the energetic performers is currently in the studio working on his sophomore album which will be released sometime in 2015.

“My fans have been awesome; they have been by my side despite all. I want to say a big thank you to all of them. This year, my New Year resolution is to be closer to my fans.”

Dr Sid: "Staying Fit By Eating Right Is My New Year Resolution"

The last two years have been eventful for Mavin signee Sidney Esiri popularly known as Dr Sid. In 2013, he bought a spacious house for himself in Lekki and a year after; he walked down the aisle with his heartthrob Simi Osomo.

The Oyari crooner seems to have a somewhat different resolution compared to his other colleagues in the industry. Dr Sid looks forward to a healthy year and he says he wants to watch what he eats and also make sure he hits the gym quite often. 

“My New Year resolution is to stay fit by eating right and hitting the gym regularly in the year 2015.”

Harrysong (Mr Songz): " Putting God First Is My Aim"

Powerful vocalist Harrysong who now prefers to be referred to as Mr Songz hopes to consolidate on his rising profile while also ensuring that he becomes more spiritual in the New Year.

The ex Questionmark artiste who is now signed onto the 5 Star Music stable looks forward to amassing more fans and getting more recognition in his quest to become one of the very best on the local music scene.

“My New Year resolution is to put God first; I want to love my fans the more and also make more money in the New Year. There should be more money for my ladies and I want to achieve a family fan base.
