The Lagos State Traffic Manage Authority (LASTMA) office
in Oshodi, Lagos State turned out to be a carnival of some sort at the Metro
Bus launch.
Present at the unveil were EME artiste, Shaydee (a Metro
Taxi ambassador) alongside other Lagos State dignitaries including the Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde
Fashola; the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu; the Group Chief Executive
Officer, Niyi Oguntoyinbo; and the Philly and Mools Group, under which Metro
Taxi and Metro Bus operate.
Speaking at the launch, Shaydee said, "Public
transportation is continually being updated and upgraded in Lagos State, and I
am very proud to be associated with the project. Lagosians deserve to be able
to travel in comfort and ease and I am glad that Governor Fashola has not
stopped his continual improvement of transport in the state."
Governor Fashola formally flagged off the operations of
the fleet of 100 new air-conditioned buses to commence the Metro Bus project,
which will be integrated into the current Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system
currently in place in Lagos.
