A 45-man committee
instituted by the trade union to save PMAN from the factional groups which have
left the union redundant for more than four years converged last week at the
Planet One, Ikeja, Lagos, in order to find a way to forge ahead and bring back
the lost glory of the music Union.
The purpose of the
meeting was to align with stakeholders in charting the way of returning PMAN to
an exalted and effective association for all the stakeholders.
In attendance were
Charlyboy, Pretty Okafor, Felix Duke, Alex O, Jazman Olofin, Kupa Victory,
Ochonma, Brown Bread, and many others.
At the end of the
peaceful meeting, PMAN members and some stakeholders present were clearly
dissatisfied with the current leadership of another factional leader Kelvin
Lucciano and casted a vote of no confidence after two years of not achieving
their mandate.
Amongst the resolution
reached was an urgent and timely need to restructure PMAN and ensure that all
the stakeholders benefit from the association under a new leadership.
This development is
coming weeks after another factional president Pretty Okafor launched the Bio-metric Card Scheme that
allows registered members to secure and protect their income and benefits and reconcile
the warring factions.
The Bio-metric Card
Scheme will enable the artiste upload their work unto the protected database of
PMAN which goes through the encoding process, storage and release to the
replication avenues at a very low cost.
