The fifth
edition of the God’s Children Great talent, the talent development project of
the RCCG Apapa family, has entered its final stage with scores of talents set
to slug it out to emerge overall winners of the contest.
To get to this
stage, God’s Children’s Great talent, over the past four months conducted
series of auditions; quarter and semi finals events in various Apapa Family
parishes in Nigeria, the United Kingdom, Europe & the united states of
America.
The grand finale
which is to be staged on the 30th of May 2015 at the Eko hotel and
Suites, will have over 5,000 attendees comprising sponsors, media partners and
families. These distinguished guests will watch up to 50 performances before a
panel of judges. The scope of talents that will be judged includes: musical
instruments, drawing, writing poetry, recitation, singing and dancing.
Speaking at the
press conference Pastor Bimbo Ozomah who is a Trustee of GCGT Trust and a
member of the Organising team said:
“God’s Children’s Great talent is a credible
platform provided to help identify early, talents in children. These talents
are then honed for the greater good of the child and the society”
Pastor Idowu
Iluyomade; Head of Apapa family, explained that the vision of the initiative is
to engage children/teens in a positive way, using their talents to glorify God
and provide a credible platform for the celebration of talent in God’s
children. In his words; “God’s children’s Great talent was born out of a desire
to identify and nurture the diverse talents available in children across the
Province”. “We are delighted that multinational brands such as
Cadbury Bournvita, Stanbic IBTC, First bank, AIRTEL, and various others have
identified with this project”.
The event will also have
ministrations from popular Gospel acts such as Frank Edwards, Rachel Kerr, Mike
Abdul, Nosa, Freke and others. Another highlight of the programme will be the
launch of the single by one of the 2014 winners. Judges at the grand finale
include Joke Silva, Sarah Boulous of the Society of Performing Arts of Nigeria
(SPAN), Dan Forster, Mosa, Ben Ogbeiwi, Wole Oni, Titi Masha Rachel Kerr and
other key personalities.
