Africa's only 24-hour comedy network Comedy Central has secured exclusive performance slots for larger-than-life comic Jason Goliath and controversial puppeteer Conrad Koch - and of course Chester Missing - at the world-renowned comedy festival.
The comedy network is sponsoring South African comedians to perform at the internationally acclaimed Just For Laughs Montreal Comedy Festival in Canada (8-28 July 2015).
Conrad Koch is one of South Africa's most in-demand comedy talents, and the winner of the Entertainer of the Year award for 2010.
Combining hilarious comedy with world class puppetry, Koch has worked all over the world, been featured on local and international television and is a frequent guest at some of South Africa's biggest comedy events, including King Size Comedy, Blacks Only, SA London Comedy Festival, and more. Koch is to headline Comedy Central's monthly stand-up showcase, Comedy Central Presents Conrad Koch Live at Parker's, on Thursday 27 August.
Self-dubbed "strangely sexy fat guy" Jason Goliath is literally larger-than-life (apparently because all that personality won't fit into a smaller body!). Goliath's commanding stage presence combines ridiculous amounts of energy and a character-based set focused on making audiences laugh at life's uncomfortable truths.
In April 2015, Goliath headlined Comedy Central Presents Goliath & Goliath Live at Parker's.
Koch and Goliath follow in the footsteps of Basketmouth (Nigeria) and John Vlismas who performed at Just for Laughs in 2014, and of Loyiso Gola and Riaad Moosa who made the trip to Montreal in July 2013.
Quipped Conrad Koch, "Chester Missing and I are extremely excited to be going to the JFL festival in Montreal, and are honoured that Comedy Central Africa has chosen to take us. Also, can we get a room next to Dave Chappelle's please?"
Added Jason Goliath, "Feels like my wedding day in comedy has arrived! I am very conscious of the fact that most comedians work their entire lives and don't ever get an opportunity like this. This is the biggest thing to happen to me and my career to date!"
