Feast of Telenovelas This August

The romance, passion and drama on your screens will be turned up this August as DStv will premiere four new Telenovelas, giving viewers more reasons to stay glued to their screens.
With football season kicking off at this month, DStv subscribers will be spoilt for choice with a world filled with entertainment variety. And while the football fans are gearing up for a jam-packed season, Telenovela fans are getting ready to immerse themselves in the world of intrigue, ridiculously good-looking characters, over-the-top villains, gripping (and often outlandish) plots with classic rags-to-riches tales.
From Monday, 10 August 2015,the 16:00GMT timeslot on M-NET City will belong to the Telenovela Sparkling Girls in which three housekeepers find fame and fortune when their music goes viral, but then have to deal with a jealous and vindictive singer will do whatever it takes to tear them apart. Thereafter, at 17:00GMT, M-Net City will bring viewers the Brazilian series Side by Side which scooped an International Emmy Award for Best Telenovela. It explores the friendship of two women in the early 20th century in a country where the divisions of wealth, power and class still prevailed.
On the same day, Telemundo on DStv will be launching For Love & Justice, a somewhat sinister tale of intrigue and passionate romance that will have you on the edge of your seat. The storyline follows the story of LucíaDurán, who has just been released from jail having served an 11-year sentence for a crime she didn't commit. Starting Monday 10th August 17:00 GMT, you won't want to miss this weekly dose of drama, intrigue and deceit.
Then, eTV Africa will add to your Telenovela binge night with Gold Diggers which also premieres on August 10 at 21:00 GMT.  The much awaited Gold Diggers is an intriguing story which brings key issues affecting the South African working class to the fore. It explores the various dynamics of love, money, family feuds, debts and economically motivated relationships. It is set against the strong backdrop of the mining industry. Gold Diggers also portrays a family run by a strong female character with the patriarch as a missing figure. The Telenovela also highlight traditions and culture in the modern world, as well as social issues such as health, education and prostitution.
