Ambode Promises Sustainable Economic & Infrastructural Development

‎Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has promised Sustainable Economic development, through ICT and Infrastructure development.

This hint was dropped by Mr. Steve Ayorinde, the Hon. Commissioner for Information & Strategy at a cocktail hosted in his honor by the Creative Entrepreneurs Association of Nigeria (CEAN) in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Mr. Ayorinde noted that Governor Ambode was concerned about Economic Development, which entails wealth creation through employment for the people. Also Infrastructure development, where the government intends to partner with the private sector for greater impact especially in transportation, power, housing, water and ICT.
The Commissioner also said the Governor is very concerned about Sustainable Development, which means in planning, government would take into account the generation of pollution that comes with economic growth and the vulnerability of a low-lying coastal region like Lagos, also Social development and protection, which has to do with investment in health  education and security.

Mr. Ayorinde, who is a Board Member of CEAN, thanked the board and members for the honour and promised that he would be a worthy Ambassador of the Association.

He noted that he would need the cooperation of members (Many are in the Media) in carrying out his duties, he promised to always leave his door open for useful suggestions that will be beneficial to the growth of the state and the wellbeing of Lagosians.

Mr. Wale Ewedemi, President of CEAN in his remarks thanked Governor  Ambode for appointing Steve Ayorinde as Commissioner and putting him in a key Ministry as Information and Strategy.
While describing Ayorinde as the right man for the job, he stated that perception is everything, and the ability of government to deliver its messages  properly and factually will determine if the people will offer the much needed support, and ultimately will determine its success.

He promised Ayorinde that CEAN will not hesitate to let the government know the true pulse of the people in Lagos, with a view of helping Governor Ambode channel his energies and resources in the right direction.

Earlier many of the guests were invited to speak about their relationship with and advice for Mr. Ayorinde: While hammering on the fact that he is a time-tested journalist and level-headed gentleman who is passionate about Nigeria's development, they urged him to bring his professional expertise and experience to bear in the discharge of his duties.
