Hennessey Marks 250 Years of Cognac & Music

Hennessy marks its 250th anniversary; celebrating the heritage, history and prestige of its brand. To mark the celebrations, the brand will engage strategically in 250HRS (Two Hundred and Fifty Hours) of activities spread out in the month of November 2015. These activities will include club tours, crafted visit, private tastings and landmark celebrations in Lagos as it happens in different cities around the world including Lagos, Moscow, Shanghai and Johannesburg. A grand Hennessy 250th anniversary concert will mark the end of the celebrations in Lagos.
The cognac brand unveiled its 250th anniversary logo early in the year and set the ball in motion towards the November celebration events. Another highlight of the celebrations to be unveiled is the 250 blend – a special anniversary edition of the cognac which will be sold to a premium number of guests – only 360 bottles would be available in Nigeria.
Hennessy also marks its historic synergy with music as part of the celebrations; the Hennessy Artistry 2015 concerts were themed to fall in line with the objective for the anniversary. Headliners R&B singer Praiz and Hip Hop Artiste Vector led other notable Nigerian acts in thrilling audiences at the Artistry concerts while activations for the club tours will be headlined by Afro-Fusion Headliner Burna Boy.
The Cognac brand team is also creating an activity that captures the essence of the theme for its 250th anniversary tagged "The Time Barrel". This will feature messages from brand enthusiasts, stored through an interactive time capsule for future generations. "The Time Barrel" invites everyone to "send a message to the future", promoting Hennessy's unique traditions of art, music and culture – The time barrel is a perpetual transmission of Hennessy's evolution since 1765, and that of its consumers, what they believe in and stand for, from one generation to the next.
