International music superstar, Asa, held a press conference on Saturday, 30 April, 2016 ahead of her live concert coming up in Lagos, Nigeria; Asa Live In Lagos.
The live musical concert, which many have described as the most anticipated concert in Nigeria, is coming up on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at the Convention Center of Eko Hotels, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Answering questions from press and media personnel at the conference, Asa said of the concert: “Asa Live In Lagos is a beautiful night of music taking the fans back to when Asa started ten years ago. It’s pure music, dance and emotion.”
“This is an opportunity for people to see me perform live here. I’m here to strengthen the bond with my fans. It’s time to show them how I have grown since my first album.”
For a long time, many have clamoured for her to do a live concert in Nigeria. Asked why it took so long to happen, the award-winning musician said she has had “a lot of international obligations” which have not afforded her the opportunity to have a live concert in the country until now.
Asa looked delighted as she spoke enthusiastically about the coming event, stating that she was “ready to perform all night” to please her teeming fans.
She also revealed that she planned to perform songs from all three of her released albums.
Hakeem Condotti, CEO of Bavent Street Live - organisers of the event - also spoke at the press conference. He stated that the Asa Live In Lagos concert would be different from other events in the country.
Over the years, Asa has been on many tours around the world, performing at some of the world's most prestigious venues. Her most recent tour, the Bed Of Stone Tour, was heralded as one of last year’s must-see tours by critics and fans.
