Moments ago, pop legend, 2Baba & African rapper number one, MI Abaga pulled a surprise on ace OAP Olisa Adibua and millions of listeners on the Morning Drive on The Beat 99.9 FM, Lagos with the unscheduled announcement of Buckwyld 'n' Breathless: The Disruption.
The two superstars took the lid off the #DisruptionAfrica teaser campaign that has taken social media by storm for days driven by mindbending images and distorted quotes to end growing speculation within and outside the entertainment circles. They announced that they will be co-headlining the Lagos leg of Buckwyld 'n' Breathless: The Disruption and a couple more cities across the continent to be subsequently announced.
2Baba added that Buckwyld 'n' Breathless: The Disruption will kick off in Nairobi, Kenya on June 11 with East African royalty Sauti Sol and Churchill co-headlining. The first in the series of shows to mark the return of the critically acclaimed game-changing concert experience will also feature guest cameos by Nigeria's premiere comedy brand Alibaba, Tanzania's pop Princess Vanessa Mdee and star comic, MC Jessy.
Buckwyld 'n' Breathless is credited with changing the game and setting the standard for mainstream music concert production in Nigeria. Earlier series built around the enthralling catalogue of 2Baba, then known as 2face Idibia were 2face Live: Buckwyld 'n' Breathless, Lagos 2010; Buckwyld 'n' Breathless: Away & Beyond, Lagos 2012 and Buckwyld 'n' Breathless: Live at the 02 Arena, London 2012.
It's 2016 and the brand returns bigger and more audacious with Buckwyld 'n' Breathless: The Disruption. Judging by the mode of the announcement, Buckwyld 'n' Breathless seems poised to deliver a truck load of delighful disruptive surprises over the next 18 months.
