Uchenna Okoh, a security guard at Mushin has been arrested and paraded in court for beating a sales girl to coma and stealing goods at a shop on Ikotun-Idimu Road, Lagos State, worth N2.4 million.
Following the incident, the owner of the burgled shop, Francisca Osomiha, a lawyer, promptly lodged a petition to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni.
“On June 16, a man walked into Finest Couture Boutique which is under my care. The man (Okoh) pretended he wanted to buy jeans but the price he was asking for did not go down well with us. So he left, leaving his phone number with the salesgirl.” Francisca’s petition read in part.
Continuing, Francisca’s petition read thus; “This same man, on June 18, called her on the phone that he was around the shop to buy the goods. But when we got to the shop, till the end of the day, he didn’t show up. On June 20, just as she (Aghedo) was opening for the day business, the man came to the shop, pretending he had come to buy the goods.
“He lured her into the inner shop where he knew nobody would hear her screams. He held her neck to the point that she started foaming in the mouth and fainted. He packed away those things, including N280, 000 cash not knowing that our Closed Circuit Television was on and had picked all that happened.”
A police source revealed that the suspect was nabbed after he was tracked down with his picture generated from the CCTV. The source also revealed that the phone number he used to call the salesgirl was also used to trail him.
