Former Super Eagles’ captain Joseph Yobo has issued a
rallying call to the Nigeria U23 team, dubbed Dream Team VI to keep their feet
on the ground ahead Wednesday’s Olympics clash against Hrubesch Horst's German
team.
"Best wishes to Coach Siasia's boys as they take on
#Germany tomorrow. Go for Gold.#NGR#Rio 2016 Dream Team VI, " the former
Everton and Fenerbache defender wrote on his Twitter handle.

Yobo also mourned the death of a young Nigerian
footballer, Michael Umanyika who died yesterday while in training with
Azerbaijani First Division club, Zagatala PFK. He described it as saddening and
unfortunate.
"Sad to read of the death of a young #NGR
footballer, Michael Umanyika in training with Zagatala PFK, Azerbaijan
#RIP"
The Dream Team VI advanced to the semi-final courtesy
their 2-0 victory against Denmark in Salvador.
John Obi Mikel has given Nigeria the lead in the first
half before Aminu Umar struck in the second half to help Samson Siasia’s side
set up a cracking last four encounter against the Europeans.
Hrubesch Horst’s side come to town undefeated and would
fancy their chances of reaching the final at the Corinthians Arena, Sao Paulo.
Should the Dream Team scale through, they will face the
winner between hosts Brazil and Honduras in the gold medal match billed for the
Maracana Stadium, Rio De Janeiro on August 20.
