Desbor Heartbeat Empire CEO talks-up future plans

Just back from his base in Switzerland, Desbor Heartbeat Empire CEO, Desmond Edobor has been pulling the strings in his bid to ensure that his music platform gets the needed recognition by promoting and projecting talents signed onto his record label with the recent video shoot of ‘Package’ by Ashflame. 

In this interview, Desmond talks about his passion for music, his artiste, Ashflame and plans for the future.

Tell us your name, tell us about yourself?

My name is Desmond Edobor. I was born and raised in Edo State to be precise. Right now, I am based in Switzerland. I’m married, I’m also from Edo State.

What inspired you to support the music industry?

Actually I think music is my passion, I love music so much and I operate from behind-the-scenes; that’s why I chose to run a record label and help project talents.

What’s the name of your record label?

The name of my record label is Desbor Heartbeat Empire.

Why did you choose that name?

It’s a long story. Actually we had some other names. I think it is from the arts, the passion, the love we have for music and the love we have for the society. Empire generally is interested in the society.

What is your expectation from this music industry?

(Chuckles...) You just cannot determine the way it goes. Of course the music industry here in Nigeria is growing, but I think we are trying to portray African music and we want see how we can achieve that.

What projects are you currently working on now? Which artiste are you grooming now?

The first artiste we are promoting now, signed under us is Ashflame. He is the artiste we have at the moment and we are pushing his brand out there. We dropped the first song in May 2015 and then we dropped the second one was which was a collaboration with Small Doctor in August or thereabout and now we are working on his third single, ‘Package’. As you can see today, we are shooting the video for Package which will be released soon.

Of all the songs released by Ashflame, which of them do you think will make waves in the industry?

Personally, I love this ‘Package’ and I think the song will go far.

Based on what you have seen so far, are you satisfied with his talent?

I think Ashflame has a great talent everybody has to watch out for. He really impresses me a lot. He is a great talent.
