African stars set to converge on J’Burg for AFRIMA 2017 Calendar unveiling

The city of Johannesburg in South Africa will come alive on Tuesday the 2nd of May when music stars from all over Africa will converge for the unveiling of the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) 2017 Calendar.


Expected at the unveiling which will be staged in partnership with the African Union Commission and the ONE Campaign at The Maslow Hotel, Sandton, Johannesburg include; Jimmy Dludlu, (Winner, AFRIMA 2016 Best Jazz); Mi Casa (AFRIMA 2016 Nominee); Ladysmith Black Mambazo (Winner, AFRIMA 2015 Legend Award); Busiswa (Winner, AFRIMA 2015 Best Female Artiste, Southern Africa); The Soil (AFRIMA 2015 Nominee).

Others are Heavy K (Winner, AFRIMA 2014 Best Male Artiste, Southern Africa); Cindy Munyavi (Winner, AFRIMA 2014 Best Female Artiste, Southern Africa) and Fungisia (AFRIMA 2014 Nominee), among others.

The music community in South Africa will also be fully represented and guests confirmed for the unveiling include players in the media and entertainment industry like Managing Director, Vth Season, Mr. Raphael Benza; Director, Vth Season, Ms. Ninel Musson; Founder Native Rhythms Productions, Dr. Sipho Sithole; CEO, Planet TV, South Africa, Ms.Mabel Mabaso, and MD, Content Connect Africa, Mr. Munya Chanesta

The unveil will also feature a joint AUC-AFRIMA Cultural Conference with the theme “Enhancing the Creative Power of the African Youth”; a discussion forum to engage culture and music industries stakeholders and policy makers and for setting agenda for the formulation of culture policies.
