PMAN Launches Biometric Scheme

Incumbent PMAN president Pretty Okafor is set to further stir activities of the union and is poised to fight piracy and make artistes get full rewards for their efforts through the Bio-metric Card Scheme that allows registered members to secure and protect their income and benefits and reconcile the warring factions.

The Bio-metric Card Scheme will enable the artiste upload their work unto the protected database of PMAN which goes through the encoding process, storage and release to the replication avenues at a very cost.

The new scheme will involve the Nigerian Postal Service, NIPOST, for nationwide distribution of musicians’ creative works especially on the release date of such works.

"On the release date, everyone can buy the artistes’ CD anywhere as well as the marketers. No record label has to spend excess money on distribution due to PMAN new spread system.

“The benefiting factor here is that, at the end of the day, the artiste gets his/her money in bulk, and is still able to keep track of how many CDs were sold, as a record account will be made available and traceable," Pretty stated recently.
