One of Nigeria’s most successful groups, P Square are set
for a tour tagged ‘Double Trouble’ which will see the duo perform in the United
States and Canada this summer. The bespoke tour starts on the 5th of
September in Washington DC.
Peter and Paul will be touring with their 11man live band
across the United States and Canada as they seek to further promote their
current album which is gaining appreciable attention.
The story of P-Square began in St. Murumba secondary
school, a small Catholic school in Jos, Nigeria. The identical twins joined
their school music and drama club where they began singing, dancing, and
mimicking songs by MC Hammer, Bobby Brown and Michael Jackson.
They later formed an acappella quartet called
"MMMPP" (M Clef a.k.a. Itemoh, Michael, Melvin, Peter and Paul).
Drawing inspiration from their music idol Michael Jackson, they began break
dancing, formed the group called "Smooth Criminals" in 1997 and have
over the years become household names around Africa and beyond.
