AMCON puts Silverbird Galleria under lock and key

The Victoria Island premises of Silverbird Galleria owned by Senator Ben Murray-Bruce is currently being sealed off by the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) over unpaid debt.

Reports say the Silverbird Galleria at 133, Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, is the first of three other assets owned by the Senator and his brothers which will be seized by the asset management corporation.

Other assets that will also be taken-over by AMCON if nothing is done by the Bayelsa State descent to reverse the ongoing confiscation action include properties located at Plot No 1161 (Silverbird Galleria), the plaza at Central Area Cadastral Zone AOO, Abuja, and the magnificent structure located at Abonnema Wharf Road and Abali Park in Port Harcourt City of Rivers State.

The unpaid debt owed by the Murray brothers amounts to N11 billion and it was a loan acquired from First Bank through AMCON.

Several Nigerian have been hounded by AMCON's latest increased tempo of its recovery activities in its bid to compel debtors especially prominent Nigerian's  and known businessmen to pay debts owed.

Recall recently that AMCON revealed that it has started taking assets of companies belonging to business mogul Jimoh Ibrahim following an order by the Federal High Court, Lagos Division.
