Sunny Nneji urges PMAN to set standards for quality songs to protect culture

One of Nigeria’s most popular highlight artists Sunny Nneji has urged the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN) to unite and ensure standards are set for the production of quality songs in order to protect and preserve Nigerian culture.

Speaking in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos, Sunny Nneji called on PMAN to unite in order to make a cohesive decision because it is only when stakeholders in the music industry cooperated among themselves, that meaningful results could be attained.

“This is a new year and I welcome everybody into it. However, it is necessary for the leaders in the music industry to be unified in making decisions.

“It is only when we can speak with one voice that progressive steps can be attained and our goals can be reached,’’ Nneji said.

Continuing, Sunny Nneji popularly known for his hit songs “Oruka’’, “Tolotolo’’ and “Happy Birthday’’ among others said it will be easier to set a standard and enforce such for the production of quality songs that can preserve Nigerian culture.

“When there is unity in any sphere of life, only the best can be expected from such venture,’’ he added.
