Nollywood starlets at loggerheads over movie role

The fact that there seems to be no love lost among some Nollywood actresses on the scene is no news but what is disturbing about this growing trend is the long term effect it will have especially in the minds of young up and coming actresses and the watching public.
There seems to be a growing list of younger actresses on the movie scene today who have had unpalatable brushes and encounters with their senior colleagues who feel they do not belong to the same age group or class.
This trend is more rampant at movie locations where already established actresses demand outright respect especially from younger upcoming actresses trying to make a name for themselves.
Another drama played out recently when a producer beckoned on Rachel Okonkwo to play the lead in his movie while offering foremost actress Queen Nwokoye the sub-lead role cum supporting actress.
The move did not go down well with Queen Nwokoye who considers Rachel Okonkwo as her ‘junior’ in the industry. Queen stormed out of the movie set in her car not before saying that she expected to see the likes of Genevieve or Omotola and not Rachel who hugged limelight recently.
Queen was called back and the rift was later settled as she handed the lead role while Rachel was given the role of supporting actress. On hearing the switch of roles, Rachel felt devastated and left the set of the movie saying she can never act under Queen.
The producer who is now at crossroads is said to have called other producer and players in the movie industry to tell Rachel to come back to the set of the movie or return the appearance fee which she had already collected after every attempt to talk some sense into the actress proved abortive.
